BirMail - Downloads

The BirMail DM software is the main Java program, running everything and keeping track of all the characters in your Birthright world.  This program updates often, extending functionality and fixing any problems found, so keep ensuring that you have the latest version to keep your program up-to-date.

The BirMail program currently stores it's data in a data file read by the BirMail program.  This download provides a starting data file for all your games.  Currently all data for Anuire is entered with some base data entered for the other regions.  As well as the base data files, there are a number of maps for use with the base data on web pages.  Each province has it's boundaries synchronised with these maps.

Once you have downloaded these file you should never need to download them again as you will have modified your own data in line with your own game.  Before starting a new game do check for updates to ensure you start with the latest game data.

The BirMail program includes a standard web output facility that creates web pages for your game based on your game data.  There is however a second more advanced method to output turns using web templates.  Using templates allows you complete freedom with how the web pages are created.  If you wish to use this facility then you will need to download these base web templates.

In order to use the email facility where every PC turn is emailed automatically to players on your request, you need to download this extension.

The BirMail program is written in the Java programming language.  This allows it to run on multiple platforms, however also means that you need to download a Java Runtime Environment so that it will run on your computer, (this may already be installed).  This is only required to be downloaded once, and is downloadable from the Java Sun site (htp://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.3/jre/). We do however recommend that you keep your JRE version up-to-date to ensure the best Java functionality.
